AUDIO: Willard blasts attorney ad

The issue of lawyers’ solicitation of Imperial Sugar victims was raised in the state Legislature on Feb. 13, 2008 when state Rep. Wendell K. Willard, R-Sandy Springs, criticized a newspaper ad in the Savannah Morning News by attorney Jeffrey D. Slakter of Dallas, Texas.

“I think I can speak for all the attorneys in the General Assembly, these types of things need to be condemned,” said Willard, an attorney who is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. “This is not the profession that we honor.”
