Black Enterprise magazine founder Earl Graves presented 1,000 copies of Fulton Superior Court Judge Marvin S. Arrington Sr.’s memoir, “Making My Mark: The Story of Man Who Wouldn’t Stay in his Place,” to students at six Atlanta public schools.

APS Superintendent Beverly Hall accepted the donation, valued at more than $200,000, during an assembly Wednesday held at Booker T. Washington High School.

Copies of the book, which tell how the judge overcame poverty and racism, were given to students from Washington, South Atlanta, Therrell, Mays, Douglass and Crim high schools. The assembly was hosted by The Freedom Writers, a mentoring program sponsored by Kilpatrick Stockton.
